Kirtan with Kailash:
Interactive Devotional Chanting Event
Saturday, July 5, 2008, 7:30-9:30 p.m.

We live in the atmosphere of our thoughts; but we often suffer from thoughts simply too many and too toxic to be endured. Devotional chanting is a venerable spiritual practice that helps us create new, better mental pathways--better because the mantras ("mind-protectors") that we're chanting are the sound-forms of the highest Perfections human beings can imagine.

You don't need a "pretty voice" to take part in devotional chanting.  Most of us have been shamed into silence, so we find ourselves frozen with self-conscious when we have an opportunity to use our voices.  But this practice sets our voices free--together with our hearts and minds.  This Yoga of Sound and Emotion will help you express yourself in a whole new way, raising the quality of your life by reducing your mental chatter, and opening your heart to more of the world.

These chants, which find their inspiration in the Hindu and Buddhist traditions, are vehicles for the expression of devotion to the Supreme.  Using them you can, you can put an end to your self-imposed suffering.  Singing love songs to your own Hig hest Ideals will align your heart and mind with that which is best in yourself.  Chanting is a simple way to enhance the quality of your life by replacing the overwhelming traffic of thoughts and feelings with a single, beautiful and inspiring Focus.  In chanting, you may discover a way to forget yourself happy!

Join Kailash in using your voice to choose your thoughts and feelings, and so support freedom and growth, in this beautiful musical meditation held at Unity Christ Church of San Francisco.
